Tried to fix my garbage disposal with a broom handle - big mistake
I jammed a broom handle down there to loosen a clog (like my dad always did) and ended up cracking the flywheel plate. Two hours and $85 for a plumber later, I learned they make these little hex wrenches specifically for this. Has anyone else broken something by using the wrong tool out of laziness?

You ever notice how we'll spend more time and money fixing something we broke trying to save a few minutes? It's like we all have to learn the hard way that the right tool actually matters.

Broke a door jamb once trying to fix a sticky latch with a butter knife.

My buddy Mark tried to unclog his kitchen sink with a coat hanger once and ended up punching a hole right through the PVC pipe under the cabinet. Water sprayed everywhere, soaked the drywall, and he had to cut the whole section out and glue in a new piece. Cost him way more than just calling a plumber from the start. Some lessons you gotta learn the hard way I guess.
