My grandma's cornbread dressing turned into a salty brick one Thanksgiving

I was trying to double her recipe in my small apartment kitchen and misread 'teaspoon' as 'tablespoon' for the salt. It was so bad my uncle joked we could use it to patch the driveway. What's your biggest family recipe fail and how did you save it?

Oh man, that's rough. I get what @ellis.leo is saying, but honestly a tablespoon of salt in a doubled recipe? That could totally happen. My fail was a gravy that turned into salty paste. I tried to save it by adding more broth, but then it was just thin salty paste. We ended up using a jar of store bought gravy and mixing a little of my "special" batch into it. It was still a talking point, just not a good one.

Sounds like a good excuse to order pizza.

Pizza is the universal backup plan for kitchen fails. @milaw14's gravy story proves even the best intentions can go wrong. Sometimes you just need to call for delivery and start over.
