Spent $40 on a fancy spice blend and it was basically just paprika
I bought this 'secret family recipe' blend from a farm stand last summer near my mom's place in Ohio. Thought it would be some magical seasoning for chili. Got home, looked at the ingredients on the back, and it was just paprika, salt, and a tiny bit of cumin. Could have made it myself for like two bucks. Anyone else get burned by overpriced mixes?

Wait, so you paid forty bucks for what is basically table salt with some red coloring? That is a raw deal my friend. I swear these farm stand people know exactly what they are doing with those fancy labels and that "secret recipe" nonsense. They are counting on people like us who think we are getting something special when really it is just repackaged pantry staples. I would be more mad if I wasn't just laughing at the audacity of it all honestly.

Did you check if their business license even exists?

Oh man, same exact thing happened to me with this "artisan seasoning" I grabbed at a farmers market in Vermont. Paid $28 for a jar that was basically just smoked paprika, garlic powder, and a little bit of dried oregano. The label said "hand blended on a moonlit night" or something ridiculous, I swear. I could have copied the whole thing by looking at the first two ingredients on the list. It's like they bank on us not checking the back of the jar until we're already home.
