Finally tried that tungsten rasp tip my buddy swore by

Used the same old flat rasp for 8 years straight on every hoof. Picked up a tungsten tip at the Midwest Horsefair last month and damn if it doesn't cut twice as fast with half the effort. Anybody else find a tool that made them feel dumb for waiting so long?

Dude, same here. I switched to a tungsten rasp last spring and honestly felt like an idiot for grinding away with the old one for so long.

Aw man, I was totally one of those guys who swore by the old style... thought the tungsten tips were just a gimmick for people who didn't know how to work a rasp right. Then my buddy loaned me his at a clinic and I was done in half the time. The cut is so much smoother too, less dust and you don't have to bear down on the hoof like you're fighting it.
