Just realized I was over-trimming the bars on my quarter clips

I used to take them way down, but after a clinic in Boise last fall, I leave about an eighth inch more. The instructor said it gives the shoe a better seat and reduces pressure points... anyone else adjust their clip work recently?

Guess I've been giving my horse the pedicure from hell all this time.

Ouch, bet your horse hates you now.

Look at it from the horse's point of view. That hoof trim stops a lot of pain and problems for them. It's like getting a bad shoe fixed, even if the process is annoying. They might not love the actual moment, but they feel way better after. So the horse probably gets it, deep down. It's a weird kind of care, but it's still care.
