Just realized my organic linen supplier is faking their certifications

I was designing a summer collection and picked a supplier for organic linen because they had all the right eco badges online. When the fabric showed up, it felt cheaper and rougher than it should, so I got suspicious. I asked for their latest audit reports, and they kept dodging my questions. After some digging, I found out they blend regular cotton with a small amount of organic to cut costs. This isn't just lying, it betrays the trust of customers who want real sustainable fashion. I had to stop my production line and search for a new vendor, which messed up my timeline. Now I'm telling everyone to always test fabric samples and check certifications in person if possible. It's a pain, but it keeps your designs from being part of a scam.

But does one bad supplier really ruin the whole idea of sustainable fashion? It's messed up they lied, but @felix_black makes it sound like the sky is falling... this stuff happens in all kinds of business. People cut corners to save money everywhere. It's good you caught it, but calling it a "betrayal" feels a bit strong... just do your checks next time and move on. It's not some huge scandal, it's just a shady company being shady.

Man that's so frustrating to hear. It really hurts the whole idea of sustainable fashion when suppliers pull stunts like that. You're totally right to push for testing samples yourself.

Tell me about it. You see this same shortcut mindset everywhere, from contractors to food labels, which is why @the_thea shrugging it off misses the point.
