Stuck between two fabrics for a custom jacket and I'm still not sure I picked right
I had to choose between a heavy waxed cotton (like the kind Barbour uses) and a modern tech canvas for a field jacket I'm making. I went with the waxed cotton because I loved the classic look, but working with it in my apartment in Portland was a mess, the wax got everywhere. Has anyone else tried a hybrid approach, like using the waxed cotton for the main panels but a lighter fabric for the sleeves?

My last attempt at a candlelit dinner left wax all over my good tablecloth (it was a whole thing). I had to freeze it and scrape for what felt like hours. Never making that mistake again.

Ugh, tell me about it! I once got red wax all over a white table runner. I ended up just throwing the thing away because I was so done with it. Candles are more trouble than they're worth sometimes.
