Watching my neighbor's kid draw with sidewalk chalk convinced me to use more bold, simple shapes in my collection.

I was sketching a new jacket design and kept overcomplicating the panels, but seeing that bright blue circle she drew on the pavement made me scrap everything and start over with just three clean cuts, which actually worked better.

My kid's preschool art is taped to my fridge and it's all just these perfect, simple triangles and squares. It's funny how the best ideas are usually the ones you have to unlearn everything to see.
