Went to a fabric warehouse in downtown LA and nearly walked out after 10 minutes

Drove all the way to the garment district last Saturday to check out this place everyone raves about. The aisles were so narrow I couldn't even squat down to see the bottom bolts without knocking stuff over. There was this one worker yelling at a customer for unfolding a piece of velvet to check the drape. How are we supposed to design anything if we can't even touch the stuff? Has anyone else found a warehouse that actually lets you breathe and feel the fabric?

That velvet story is infuriating, @hannahsingh called it exactly right. Did the yelling worker act like they owned the place or were they just having a bad day?

That place sounds like a nightmare, I'd have been out the door the second someone yelled at a customer for breathing on the fabric. Guess they didn't get the memo that feeling textiles is literally the whole point of shopping for them.

Bit dramatic, it's just fabric shopping.
