PSA: I used a 4x4 for a corner post on a 6-foot vinyl fence and it was a huge mistake.

The client wanted to save money, so against my gut, I agreed to use a 4x4 instead of a 6x6 for the main corner post. We set it in concrete just like always. Three months later, I got a call that the whole corner was leaning almost 2 inches out of plumb. The wind load on that big panel was just too much for the smaller post, even with a good footing. I had to go back, dig it all out, and reset a proper 6x6. Learned my lesson: never cheap out on structural posts, even if the customer pushes for it. Has anyone else had a post size fail on them, or am I the only one who caved on this?
