Showerthought: I used to think a 3-foot post hole was deep enough for a 6-foot privacy fence in my area.
Had a big wind storm last month in Tulsa and a whole 40-foot section of a cedar fence I put up last fall leaned over about 15 degrees because the posts weren't set deep enough to beat the frost line. What's the minimum depth you all go for a solid 6-foot panel in a place with real winter?

I always thought 2 feet was fine until a storm in Kansas City proved me wrong. Now I go at least 3 feet down, below the frost line.

Yeah storms will make you rethink everything, @stellanelson. I mean my neighbor's fence posts just tipped right over last winter, it was kind of a mess.

Man, @stellanelson is totally right about going deeper. I saw a whole shed slide six inches after a bad freeze because the posts were too shallow. That frost line doesn't play around. You gotta dig past where the ground moves or it's just a temporary fix.
