TIL a squirrel can chew through a vinyl fence post in under a week. Saw it happen at a job in Portland.

Watch my local squirrels try to build a tiny condo complex. They chewed a perfect little archway into my deck rail, then gave up halfway through a second one like they ran out of funding. My yard looks like a failed rodent construction site.
