Tried a DIY post-hole digger attachment on my skid steer instead of renting an auger
Saved $150 on the rental fee but the damn thing wobbled so bad on the third hole that I bent the mounting bracket and lost half a day fixing it, anyone else had better luck with those add-on units?

Yeah I mean it's kind of true what @miles_young59 said, but I don't think it's always that black and white. The thing with those add-on diggers is they need really solid ground to work right, and even then the wobble can sneak up on you. I've seen a couple guys use them on rocky soil and it just tears the bracket apart real quick. Maybe it's just me but I feel like if you're only doing a few holes it's fine, but anything more than that and you're better off just renting the proper auger.
