Vent: Overheard a landscaper in Denver say 'a fence is just a wall with holes in it'
I was grabbing coffee last week and heard a guy from a big landscaping crew say that to his buddy. It's that kind of thinking that gets you a wobbly, leaning mess after one Colorado winter. A proper fence needs proper footings, not just posts shoved in dirt. How do you guys handle clients who think our work is just 'putting up sticks'?

Proper fence needs proper footings" is the part that got me. You're in Denver and you still have to explain that? The ground heaves like crazy out there. A fence without good concrete footings below the frost line is just temporary art. That guy calling it a wall with holes is why so many fences look terrible after a year. It shows he doesn't get the basic forces a fence has to handle.

Wait, he called it a wall with holes? That's actually kind of funny but so wrong.
