Why does nobody talk about how bad those plastic post caps are for pressure treated wood?

I was replacing a whole line of fence in a wet part of town and saw every single post was rotting from the top down under those caps. They trap moisture against the wood. I've switched to just sealing the post top with a brush-on sealant instead. Anyone else find a better fix for this?

I used to think people were just seeing deer or something at night. Then last summer in the Pine Barrens I saw a dark shape move between trees way too fast and quiet. It was bigger than a person and didn't make a sound. That wasn't a bear or a trick of the light. I don't know what it was, but I can't explain it away anymore.

Wait, bigger than a person but moved that fast? How is that even possible? I've seen deer bolt and they make a ton of noise crashing through brush. Something that size moving in total silence... that's not right. It makes you wonder what's really out there in those woods at night.
