DAE have an airport food budget plan backfire spectacularly?
So I was flying to visit my sister and thought I'd be smart by bringing my own sandwiches to avoid overpriced airport food. But then security made me throw out my homemade spread because of liquid rules, and I had to buy a $15 burger anyway. Lesson learned: sometimes trying to save cash just makes you spend more.

Did your budget plan just feed airport security?

Read that the TSA throws out tons of food every year for that exact reason. They must get mountains of yogurt cups and jars of sauce. Your sandwich spread just joined the pile, what a waste.

Reading @ray_miller84's comment made me realize how common this is. I've switched to bringing stuff like pre-packaged nuts and dried fruit now. They never get flagged by security, and it's way cheaper than buying food inside. Kind of a hassle to remember, but it beats losing your lunch.
