Found out my grandpa's first house cost less than my car
I was looking through some old family papers in a box at my parents' place last weekend. I found the original deed and mortgage statement for the house my grandpa bought in 1962. The total price was $12,500, which is less than I paid for my used truck last year. I knew prices were different, but seeing the actual paper with the numbers really hit me. It's wild to think about how much things have shifted in just a couple generations. Anyone else have a moment like that with old family financial stuff?

Yeah, it's crazy to see the actual numbers. My dad's college tuition bill was like one month of my rent now. Makes you wonder what basic stuff will cost in another fifty years, you know? Feels like the goalposts just keep moving.

Remember when a candy bar was a quarter? I bought one last week and it cost more than my lunch used to. Makes you feel like you're paying extra just to exist sometimes.

@bettyroberts what do you think fixes it?
