I spent $200 on a financial planning app and it actually worked

I was sure these apps were a waste of money, but my friend kept telling me to try one. I bought a year of YNAB and linked my accounts. After three months, I found $50 a month I was wasting on subscriptions I forgot about. Has anyone else had a good experience with a budgeting tool?

Totally feel that, @wendyg43. I found a similar surprise with an old streaming service still billing me. These apps basically pay for themselves by finding that hidden money.

My coworker found almost $80 a month in forgotten charges using Mint before it shut down.

Found a forgotten gym membership that was still charging me six months after I moved across town. Felt pretty silly when I realized I had basically donated fifty bucks a month to a treadmill I never used. It’s amazing how those small charges just slip through the cracks when you’re not looking. Makes me wonder what else I’m paying for without even knowing it. I guess I need to check my own statements more often.
