Hot take: picked the fixer-upper over the move-in ready house in Columbus and I'm already regretting it

Three months in and I've already dropped $8,000 on a new roof and plumbing repairs that the inspector totally missed, so has anyone else had a similar experience where the cheaper house ended up costing way more than the one that was already updated?

Wait, $8,000 in just three months? I mean, that roof thing alone would have me second guessing everything. Honestly, I'd be losing my mind if I spent that kind of money so fast on a place I thought was the budget friendly choice.

Right? Like who does a full roof replacement three months into buying a place you thought was the easy choice. What exactly did the inspection miss - was it just the roof or are there other hidden problems popping up too?

$8,000 already and only three months in... that roof must have been a nightmare. It's just one thing after another with old houses, isn't it...
