My pre-approval letter had a number way bigger than I expected

The bank said I could borrow up to $375,000, which honestly shocked me. I'd been looking at tiny condos under $250k, thinking that was my hard limit. Seeing that figure on paper made me realize I could actually afford a small house with a yard in my area. Has anyone else had their budget totally shift after getting their official numbers?

Just don't let that number trick you into overspending.

My last credit card bill was a real wake up call.

Honestly that number has tricked me more times than I can count. Tbh my credit card statement sometimes looks like a receipt for a party I don't even remember having. Ngl I'm on a first name basis with the "payment due" alert at this point. It's a real skill to spend money you don't have on stuff you don't need.
