Am I the only one who thinks a full glue-down on residential LVP is overkill?

Had a job last week where the homeowner insisted on it for their whole main floor, about 800 square feet. I argued a good underlayment and a proper click-lock would hold fine, but they paid for the glue. What's the most unnecessary spec you've had to follow?

Actually, that glue-down spec makes total sense to me in some cases. If the subfloor is uneven or there's a lot of foot traffic, that extra bond can prevent movement and noise later. A click system can still float and shift over time, no matter how good the underlayment is. The homeowner might have had a bad experience before and wanted the peace of mind. Sometimes paying for overkill is cheaper than a call back.

Used to agree, but glue stops the squeaks.

Yeah, @dianahayes, my dad glued his floor down and now it's quieter than my cat at 3am lol.
