The day I found a full set of dentures under a 1970s shag carpet

Pulling up this nasty old shag in a Reno bungalow, and my scraper hits something hard and plastic. I thought it was a toy at first, but nope, it's a complete upper and lower denture set, grinning up at me from the subfloor. The homeowner, an older guy, just shrugged and said, "Must be my dad's, he was always losing things." We had to stop the job for an hour because we couldn't stop laughing. Had to stop the job for an hour" seems like a big overreaction. I mean, finding old dentures is weird, but not that funny. Maybe it's just me, but that's a lot of lost time for something kinda gross.

You ever think @anthony129 that maybe the hour wasn't just laughing? If those dentures were really old, they could have been a biohazard. The crew might have needed time to figure out safe handling or even call someone, which eats up time fast.

Seriously, @anthony129, they probably had to call in a guy with a hazmat suit. Imagine the paperwork just to throw out some great-grandpa's old teeth. That hour was them all standing around a bio bag trying not to touch it.
