The day my laser level took a swim in a client's koi pond
I was setting up for a big tile job in a fancy backyard in Scottsdale, Arizona. I leaned my new DeWalt laser level on the coping stone, turned to grab my spacers, and heard a loud splash. The thing had toppled right into their koi pond. I fished it out fast, but it was soaked and totally dead. Anyone know a good trick for drying out tools fast, or was that $200 just a donation to the fish?

Rice can work, but those little silica gel packets are way better. I keep a big tub of them from old shoe boxes just for this. Leave the tool in a sealed bag with them for a full 48 hours, no batteries in.

Been there. Pull the batteries and bury it in a bag of rice for a few days, it might come back.
