I finally gave up on floral foam for certain designs

Watched a bouquet slowly sink into a foam block during a humid outdoor event, and it was so absurd I laughed. Switched to chicken wire for better support in damp conditions.

Oh, that "sturdy" foam @wesley440 mentioned is such a trick in damp air. It soaks up water fine at first, but once it's fully saturated, the structure just turns to useless mush. Chicken wire gives a firm grip that doesn't break down, which is crucial for any outdoor summer event.
