My shop's flower cooler went from a mess to a money maker in about 8 weeks

I'm talking about a real before and after here. My cooler used to be a total disaster zone, just a jumble of buckets where nothing sold because it looked sad. I'd lose maybe 20% of my stock to wilting before I could even sell it. The change started when I visited a friend's shop in Charlotte and saw how she grouped colors and kept everything at eye level. I came home and spent a weekend pulling everything out, labeling shelves by color story, and putting the 'wow' pieces front and center. Now, customers walk in and buy the display pieces because they can actually see them. It sounds simple, but it took that trip to see how bad my own setup was. Has anyone else done a full cooler reset and actually seen their waste go down?

That "wow pieces front and center" idea is so smart. I've seen how just making the best items visible can change everything. It really is amazing what a good reset can do.

My old boss at the vintage shop would rearrange one shelf every Tuesday morning. Honestly, it felt like a waste of time until I saw people go straight for the new spot. Tbh it taught me that small, regular changes work better than a big monthly overhaul.

Yeah that weekly shelf move is such a low effort high reward trick. It makes people look again instead of just walking past the same stuff. @lunag30 is right about the good stuff needing to be seen, but how do you decide what gets that prime spot each week? Was it just your boss's gut feeling, or did they track what sold after being moved?
