PSA: Checked my wholesale supplier's new rose shipment and the difference was night and day
I've been ordering from the same place for 2 years. Last week they switched to a different Ecuador farm. The stems went from thick and straight to bendy and thin in just 7 days. Anyone else's supplier pull something like this without warning?

That thing about the stems going from thick and straight to bendy and thin hits home, man. I had the exact same shock with my supplier's last rose order and it really messes up your whole week.

My guy at the flower market had this happen when his supplier switched farms without telling him. I started asking for farm names and pics of the actual stems before placing orders now, it helps weed out the bad batches early.

Started doing the exact same thing after I got burned on some tulips that turned into total mush two days later. Now I straight up ask my wholesale guys for the farm name and a quick video of the stems in the bucket before I commit to a big order. It's crazy how much of a difference it makes when you can physically see the condition of the actual batch instead of just trusting the catalog description. Most of the time they're happy to send it, and if they hesitate that's a red flag right there. Plus once you start doing that, they know you're paying attention and suddenly you stop getting the bottom of the barrel stuff.
