Spent 3 hours trying to get a rose stem to stand straight in a tall vase
I had a wedding order with 50 long-stemmed roses that needed to go into narrow glass cylinders. Every time I placed one, it would tilt or fall over, and I wasted so much time. I finally tried wrapping a small piece of chicken wire into a ball and dropping it in the bottom to hold the stems in place, which worked perfectly. What's your go-to trick for keeping tall, heavy flowers upright in a vase?

Chicken wire is a lifesaver... I keep a roll of it in my work kit just for that. Sometimes I'll crumble up a bit of clear plastic wrap and stuff it down there too if the vase is really wide.

Oh my gosh, that plastic wrap trick is GENIUS. I have been using chicken wire for years and never thought of that. My method is just shoving more and more wire in there until it looks like a metal bird's nest. It works, but it is NOT pretty. Your way sounds way more elegant, and I am definitely trying it next time.

Read a blog post where someone used a zip tie to hold the chicken wire in a tight bundle before putting it in the vase. It kept the shape neat and made it way easier to pull out later without the mess.
