Stopped by a wholesale market in Miami and saw something wild

I was down in Miami last month visiting a flower market I used to hit back in the 90s and noticed almost no one was buying roses. The old timers were all grabbing tropical foliage and unusual greenery instead. Is the demand for standard roses dying off or is this just a regional thing down here?

People are obsessed with being different even with flowers now.

Oh "almost no one was buying roses"? I gotta gently push back on that one. I'm in Atlanta and my wholesaler says roses are still their biggest seller month after month, especially for weddings and events. Might've just been a slow day for roses down there, or maybe that market was more focused on foliage that week.

Did you try switching to a different wholesaler?
