The plastic from my weekly flower order fills a whole bin.

I get deliveries wrapped in so much plastic it's crazy. Trying to switch to greener options seems to cost a lot more. What's a good way to cut down on this mess without breaking the bank?

Tbh, is all that plastic really such a huge deal? Most of it gets recycled anyway, and there are bigger issues to worry about. Prob not worth stressing over if the flowers make you happy.

Your whole bin of plastic, is that just from the delivery wrapping or does it include the water tubes and foam blocks too? Have you asked your current flower service if they offer a no-plastic option, even if it costs a bit more? Like @the_diana said, local farms might use less wrap, but do they also skip those little plastic water picks that keep stems fresh? Some services use compostable wraps, but they often charge extra, so it's worth checking all the parts of the package.

Finding a local flower farm or farmers market stand could be a game changer. They often use paper or no wrap at all, and the blooms are way fresher. I started doing this last summer and the quality is better for the same price. Have you checked for any growers near you?
