Met a guy at a flea market who still repairs old film projectors

He told me his entire supply of replacement belts came from a warehouse in Akron that closed in 2008. If you don't know how to source parts for these, the skill is basically gone. Anyone else run into a hobby that's one supplier away from extinction?

Crazy how much of our tech history is locked in random storage units. That guy's basically the last librarian for a dead language.

My dad's old ham radio group is down to three guys and a single tube supplier, so I feel that. The_miles is right, it's like watching libraries burn down one shelf at a time.
