My grandma taught me how to make ink from berries, and now I'm hooked on old writing methods.

In my experience, learning quill pen crafting from my grandma has been a real joy. She showed me how to crush berries for ink, which feels special each time. Your mileage may vary, but I find it more relaxing than typing on a screen. For instance, I wrote a birthday card with a feather I shaped myself, and it looked lovely. However, I struggle to find decent feathers near me without buying them online. I'm curious if anyone has suggestions for local sources or ways to keep the nibs from wearing out. I'd appreciate any advice from folks who cherish similar outdated skills.

My buddy Mark tried it last summer... got excited and used a whole bucket of blackberries. His hands and half his kitchen towels were purple for a week.
