My grandma's scrapbooking obsession from the 90s vs. my attempt last month

She had binders full of acid-free paper, fancy corner cutters, and stickers for every holiday, all organized by year. I tried to make one for my niece's birthday with just some glue, magazine clippings, and a regular pair of scissors. The result looked like a kindergartener's art project next to her museum-quality pages, lol. Has anyone else tried to pick up an old craft and been totally humbled by how much skill it actually took?

Acid-free paper was a thing back then?

My old 1990s comic books are all yellow now, @bell.felix, so I feel your pain.

Honestly, is yellowing paper that big of a deal? It just shows the book's been around. My old paperbacks are all brown and crinkly but they still read fine. It's not like the words fade away, @harper_foster. It's just what happens to old paper, not some huge loss.
