My grandpa's 1940s ham radio rig is basically a museum piece now, and that's kind of a problem.

Know the feeling. My own attempts at keeping old tech alive usually end with me staring at a pile of parts I can't name. It's like the thing becomes a pet you're scared to feed because you might break it. You want to keep it working, but just looking at it wrong feels risky. That balance between a showpiece and a working tool is so hard to find.

Ever see what happens when you try to fire up a 70s tube TV that's been sitting? My buddy did that, heard a loud pop, and then the whole room smelled like burnt dust and regret for a week. He got it to show a fuzzy picture for like two seconds before it gave up.

That old gear deserves to be used, not just looked at.
