My great grandma's hand crank egg beater still works better than my electric mixer
I got this old egg beater from my grandma's attic back in 2018, and I laughed at it for like two years. One night the power went out during a thunderstorm and I needed to make frosting for my kid's birthday cake. I grabbed that rusty thing and whipped up cream in about 3 minutes flat, no noise, no mess. Now I use it for small batches of eggs and cream at least twice a week, and my electric mixer just sits in the cabinet gathering dust. Has anyone else found an old kitchen tool that totally beats out the modern version?

Why would you want to use a hand crank when you can just plug something in and walk away? @leo_fisher makes a good point about fixing them, but I'd rather just buy a new electric mixer for $30 than mess around with pliers.

My grandpa's old manual can opener is way better than any electric one I've tried.

Get yourself a good pair of pliers if the handle on the old one breaks. I've fixed two of those by just clamping the turning mechanism with some channel locks. Works just as well.
