Did something similar happen to a friend of mine? He keyed up an old mic without checking the frequency and interrupted a whole net meeting. They were not pleased about the sudden burst of feedback. It took him a week to live that one down.

Reminds me how often small mistakes cause big trouble. Like when my neighbor's kid set off his car alarm at 3 AM, waking the whole block. Or when @clairen85's uncle got that FCC visit. It's funny how one wrong button or a quick moment of not paying attention can spiral into a whole thing everyone remembers.

My uncle did that once and got a visit from the FCC. They are not known for their sense of humor about airwave hijinks. He still gets nervous around a microphone.
