Found a whole set of old glass marbles in the dirt by the creek path
I was walking my usual loop along Miller Creek when I saw something shiny half buried. Took me a solid 45 minutes of careful digging with a stick to get them all out without breaking any. Ended up with 17 perfect marbles, some with cool colored swirls inside. It made me think about how kids don't really play with stuff like that outside anymore. Has anyone else found old toys like that on their walks?

My uncle found a whole coffee can of clay marbles near the old railroad tracks. The best thing you can do is gently wash them with cool water and a soft cloth, no soap. Let them air dry completely on a towel, because the old glass can be brittle. I keep mine in a shallow wooden bowl on a shelf where the light hits them.

It's wild how much history is just sitting in the dirt, waiting to be found. I've started noticing old bottle caps and bits of pottery everywhere now that I'm looking for it. Makes you wonder about all the little stories that got dropped and forgotten over the years.
