Client asked me to lie about project results, I did it.

Sometimes you have to compromise ethics to pay rent.

Hearing you had to lie for rent money is rough, but selling out isn't the only way. Lying to a client can come back to bite you later. There are other jobs or side gigs that don't ask you to cheat. It might seem like you need the cash now, but keeping your word matters more in the end. Once you get a rep for being shady, it sticks with you. I know it's hard, but short cuts often lead to dead ends.

Been in that spot before... client wanted me to fudge numbers on a report. I made a copy of the real data first, then gave them what they asked for. When it blew up later, I had proof I was just following orders. Saved my butt from getting blamed entirely.

Tbh, my friend kept the real data too and it saved her butt when things went south.
