I was at a coffee shop in Austin and saw something that made me rethink my work setup

I was working at a local spot last Tuesday and noticed a guy with three laptops, a tablet, and a notebook all spread out. He was clearly a freelancer, maybe a developer or designer, and he looked totally stressed. It hit me that I used to carry my whole office in a bag too, which was heavy and made me feel like I was always working. Since I switched to just my laptop and a cloud drive, my back feels better and I can focus on one thing at a time. Has anyone else tried cutting down their gear and found it helped their headspace?

So what was the actual turning point for you? Like, did you just wake up one day and decide to carry less stuff, or was there a specific moment where the heavy bag became a real problem? I'm trying to lighten mine up but it's hard to figure out what I actually need to have with me every single day.
