My biggest client's payment portal went down right before rent was due

I was sitting at my kitchen table in Austin last Tuesday, trying to send an invoice for a $2,800 project. The client's payment system just gave an error message and wouldn't load. I panicked for a second, then sent them a direct PayPal request with the invoice attached and a short note explaining the issue. They paid it within two hours, and I learned to always have a backup payment method ready. Has anyone else had a client's usual system fail like that?

What's your backup plan?

Wait, they paid a $2,800 invoice in just two hours? That's the real shocker here.

Lol right? That speed is unreal. I once had a client take six months to pay a bill for half that amount. Two hours feels like a different planet. Honestly, it makes you wonder what their process is even like over there.
