Backyard composting made me realize we're throwing away free garden gold.
It's CRAZY to me that people still bag leaves and grass when they could be improving their soil for NOTHING.

It's sad to watch people bag up perfect compost material for the trash.

Watched my neighbor across the street bag up a huge pile of grass clippings last week. The city compost truck came the very next day, just sitting there empty. Makes you wonder what goes through people's heads sometimes, right @amy974?

Why did I ever buy those expensive soil bags? Seeing how fast kitchen scraps break down in my own bin changed everything. Now I just feel silly for all that waste.
