Pro tip: you've been folding fitted sheets wrong your whole life

My wife handed me a bundle of clean laundry last Saturday and said 'good luck' with this smirk, so I spent 15 minutes trying to get that fitted sheet to lay flat and it still looked like a crumpled mess when I was done. Then my neighbor from across the hall knocked to borrow sugar and saw me struggling, laughed, and showed me this trick where you tuck the corners into each other like you're making a pocket - took me under 2 minutes after that. Has anyone else had some random person just walk you through a simple thing you've been doing wrong for years without even trying?

Fold those corner pockets in on themselves like you're making a little envelope and the sheet practically folds itself flat. That neighbor probably saved you from 15 more years of frustration with one simple demo.

Seventeen years is what I've got invested in fighting fitted sheets before I learned that trick last summer. The envelope fold is great but you actually have to tuck the elastic corners inward on themselves first, not just fold the whole sheet over. If you skip that step the corners pop right back out when you try to flatten it out. I watched three different YouTube tutorials before I got the motion down without the sheet bunching up like a potato sack. Your neighbor did you a solid showing you in person instead of making you learn from a shaky phone video.

Ngl, the envelope trick works but you gotta tuck the corners in first or it just comes out all bunched up.
