I finally understood why people hate smart home gadgets after my Echo Dot started playing polka at 3 AM in my Atlanta apartment.

Ugh, I did the same thing after my lights turned on by themselves. Went back to normal switches and never looked back. The peace of mind is worth more than any fancy feature.

Polka at 3 AM" is the perfect reason to ditch it all. I get that feeling of trading real reliability for useless junk.

Maybe it's not that deep though, julia549. A weird 3 AM polka song is just a funny glitch, not a sign your whole device is junk. People get so mad at tech now over tiny things. My old laptop makes that noise sometimes and it's still fine for everything I need.
