I tested two phone battery packs on a camping trip and one was a total letdown
Last weekend I took a 10,000mAh Anker and a cheap no-name pack with me to the woods. The Anker charged my phone from 5% to full in about an hour, but the other one took over three hours and got really hot. The difference was the power output rating, which I didn't check before buying the cheap one. Anyone have a good brand for a bigger pack, maybe 20,000mAh?

What about checking the actual output in watts, not just the mAh? The cheap pack probably had a low wattage, like 5W, while your Anker is likely 18W or more. That's why it charged slow and got hot, it was working way too hard. For a 20,000mAh pack, just make sure it supports at least 18W or even 30W fast charging, or you'll be waiting forever.

But watts don't matter if the battery cells are junk, @hannah_perry.

Good cells matter more than watts on paper.
