Just swapped my old USB-A hub for a USB-C one and it was a game changer
I was using a cheap Anker 7-in-1 USB-A hub for my laptop but kept getting dropouts on my external drive. Picked up a Satechi USB-C hub for $45 at Micro Center last week and the transfer speed difference is night and day. Anyone else notice how much smoother everyday stuff gets with a simple upgrade like this?

Wait, is that the Satechi with the aluminum housing that matches the MacBook? I grabbed one too and it's INSANE how much of a difference the speed bump makes for video editing. I was transferring 4K clips with that old USB-A hub and it would take forever, but now it's like the drive is basically built in. The real kicker for me was the power delivery too. That old hub would sometimes just stop charging my laptop if I had too many devices plugged in, but the Satechi keeps everything running smooth even with my external SSD and a mouse all going at once.

Did you test if it still holds up when you plug in like a powered USB hub through it too? I'm trying to figure out if it can handle daisy chaining or if it's just meant for direct stuff.
