My $120 'smart' meat thermometer kept telling me my chicken was raw when it was clearly done, but my brother says his works perfectly.

I mean, it's either a total waste of cash that burns you with undercooked fears or a lifesaver that saves you from food poisoning, so has anyone else had a gadget that just refused to work right for them specifically?

Ever wonder if your phone or microwave messes with the thermometer's signal? My old apartment had so much wireless junk that my smart gadgets went nuts. The thermometer would jump 20 degrees if I stood near the router with my phone in my pocket. Maybe your place has a weird spot where the tech just freaks out.

Did you ever figure out if it was the router or the phone causing the biggest spike? I've had similar stuff happen and it's a pain to track down. Makes you wonder if some rooms just have a weird build up of all those signals.
