My phone battery was dying by 3pm, so I tried turning off one specific setting
I was getting maybe 4 hours of screen time before my phone hit 10%. I read a review for a new model that mentioned background app refresh, so I went into my settings and turned it off for every single app except my messaging one. That was three days ago. Now I'm ending the day with over 30% left. It's the simplest fix that actually made a real difference. Has anyone else found a single setting change that gave you way more battery life?

Ugh, I did that and it totally messed up my notifications... half my apps wouldn't update until I opened them.

Wait, half your apps stopped updating? That's wild, I only got a few weird notification delays. Did you restart your phone after doing it? Sometimes that clears out the glitch. I can't believe it messed up that many things for you, that sounds like a huge pain to fix.

Turning off background app refresh was a game changer for my battery too. I had the same worry about notifications that @willowh20 mentioned, but I only left it on for my mail and weather apps. Everything else works fine, just a tiny delay sometimes. My phone easily lasts all day now without that constant background drain. What other settings have people tried messing with for better battery?
