Question about a 3 year old fitness tracker that just gave up
My Fitbit Charge 3 from 2021 finally died last month, the screen just went black and never came back. I tried every reset trick on their website and even left it on the charger for a full 48 hours with no luck. Has anyone else had a gadget just quit like that right after the warranty ended?

Check if the battery connector inside got loose. My old one had that happen, a little pressure on the back made the screen flicker. It's a long shot but cheaper than a new one.

My old laptop did that exact thing for MONTHS before I figured it out. The flicker would only happen if I picked it up by the corner. I finally opened it up and the whole battery cable was just hanging there, not even clipped in.

Honestly, how do these cables even come loose like that? I read a whole thing about how laptop batteries can actually push against their own connectors over time from getting a little puffy. @bell.felix, your story about it only flickering when you picked it up makes total sense then, because that would wiggle the loose part. Tbh it seems like a pretty common weak spot in a lot of models. They really should make those clips stronger or something.
