Flying to a glass show, my favorite jacks got confiscated

I packed my tools for a big glass event in Chicago. The airport people said my jacks were too sharp and took them. How do you convince security that glass tools are safe?

Seriously? They took jacks for a glass show? That's like their whole thing.

Adam's right that it sucks, but jacks aren't the whole thing. Glassblowers use a bunch of tools like reamers and shears too. Still a huge bummer they took yours though.

Yeah exactly, you need all those tools working together. I had a pair of diamond shears vanish after a group workshop last year, not stolen maybe just misplaced, but it totally killed my next project. Felt like losing a part of my hands. The cost to replace even one good tool hurts, but the momentum you lose is worse. You ever have a tool go missing right when you needed it most?
