My foreman started weekly safety chats, and I think it's making a difference.

My friend's shop started safety chats and close calls dropped.

We had those at my last job and I kinda thought they were pointless at first. But after a while I noticed people being more careful with their gloves and gear.

Makes sense. When you add a simple tool or rule, it often makes people stop and think. I see this with safety signs at work sites, they seem obvious but actually cut down on careless moves. It's like putting a bin right where you drop stuff, suddenly everyone uses it. Those small nudges work because they're always there, reminding you without being in your face. Over time, that constant hint builds better habits without anyone making a big deal about it. It's why I don't mind extra steps if they keep my crew sharp.
