Saw a huge glass atrium in Dallas that made me think about our install methods

Honestly, I was at the Perot Museum in Dallas last week and their main lobby has this massive, curved glass wall. It's got to be 40 feet tall and the panels are huge, maybe 8 feet wide each. The whole thing is just glued in place with structural silicone, no metal clips or frames visible at all. It got me thinking, is this purely aesthetic overkill or the future for big commercial jobs? On one hand, it looks amazing and seamless. On the other, I'd be nervous about long-term stress and replacement. Has anyone here actually installed a system like that?

Used to think that was a bad idea until I saw one in person.

Yeah, I was the same until I saw it myself.

That museum glass is wild. Saw a similar setup on a hotel in Austin that made my palms sweat just looking at it.
